Born on 5th July, 1960 in Amreli of Gujarat State, Mr. Chunibhai Gajera, the founder and the owner of ‘Laxmi Diamond’ has five brothers and a sister. Being highly intellectual and socially responsive, he has been consistently involved in social activities.
In 1972, when Mr. Chunibhai Gajera came to Surat for earning his livelihood, he started his work as a diamond worker. Gradually, he commenced a small industrial unit named ‘Laxmi Diamond’ along with his elder brother Mr. Vasantbhai Gajera. ‘Laxmi Diamond’, at present is globally known as one of the leading companies in diamond exporting and being a DTC sight holder since 1995.
The company has won prestigious award and fame and thus eventually other companies like Laxmi Diamond Pvt Ltd, Laxmi Info Developers Ltd, Shanti Enterprise, etc were also commenced in the country and they are making continuous positive progress.
Mr. Chunibhai Gajera and his brothers always wished to serve the society and to provide well educated citizens to the country; Smt. Shantaben Haribhai Gajera Charitable Trust was established on 15 January 1993. It has 9 campuses which include 18 Schools, 3 Colleges and a Home for Orphans. Recently the trust has started Medical College in Amreli, Gujarat. The trust works for qualitative development of more than 58,000 students studying in these educational institutions.
Gajera Trust also provides best healthcare services to serve the community on larger scale. From 1993, till today Blood Donation Camp is held twice in a year. Mobile medical vans arranged by Trust have been reaching out to the people in rural areas regularly. Various lectures and campaigns are arranged to promote the awareness about mental and physical fitness of people. Goods and food always reaches to the needy at the time of any calamity.
“Serving Humanity is serving God” Gajera Trust opened Vatsalyadham, an orphan house at Kholvad, Ta – Kamrej of Surat district where more than 850 orphans are given shelter and education to make them self reliant. Apart from this noble act, many times such financial help is rendered to the affected and helpless people in adverse situations wherever and whenever the need arises.
