Educational Initiatives

The institutions of Smt. S.H. Gajera Charitable Trust span across 9 campuses, comprising a network of 18 schools, 3 colleges, and an orphanage ‘VatsalyaDham’.  More than 58000 learner are getting holistic education here. Vasant Gajera believe that social reforms only can be possible via 360 degree educational aproch. In all the campuses ruined by Gajera Trust, students can learn different skills like Music, Drama, Sports, STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths), innovation, Public Speaking, creative writing… etc along with academic programs.

Smt. Shantaben Haribhai Gajera Shaikshanik Sankul, Amreli

The foundation stone of this Mahila campus was laid on December 25, 1997. This 27 acre campus, a cluster of 10 Gujarati and English Medium Schools; 17 accredited/quality certified Colleges and two distance education centers educating more than 9000 girls, was established by Shree Amreli Jilla Leuva Patel Charitable Trust, where Shri Vasantbhai is the President. It is an active example of Shri Vasantbhai’s commitment to ensure that women are empowered and rural sectors are developed. The smile, confidence and outstanding performance in the board / university examinations by the Sankul girls define the identity of this academic campus.

Shree Amreli Jilla Vidhyasabha, Amreli

Spread over 105 acres of land, this campus, re-launched in 2010, houses schools and professional colleges catering to the quality education needs of more than 6000 students of rural populace. With the launch of the second campus in Amreli, Shri Vasantbhai converted Amreli, his birth place, into ‘An island of Academic and Human Excellence’.

Initiated in June 2007 in the tribal region of Valsad district, this 120 acre lush green campus houses two schools and seven professional colleges offering quality education to around 5000 students in CBSE, CIE,  BE, NIOS, DE and MBA courses. In a serene environment away from the city, the lush green atmosphere of Laxmi Vidyapeeth provides the students a system that is a perfect blend of modern techniques and traditional values facilitating the enhancement of their physical, mental, social and spiritual values. The caring, healthy and challenging environment that are lived out in the campus help the students to meet the challenges of life with confidence, imagination and integrity.

Started in 1998, this campus located at Katargam area of Surat, enlightens the lives of more than 15,000 students through its acclaimed English and Gujarati medium schools. It was the first English medium school that commenced in Katargam area of Surat and the very first year saw more than 500 students passing out. Committed to continuously providing its students with a host of opportunities to pursue academic and personal excellence, the school is highly acclaimed for the quality of its academic process and learning practices.

Gajera Global School, Pal, Surat

This CBSE affiliated school was established in April 2014 with advanced learning techniques and has seen learners captivating knowledge from the educators. The School nurtures the learners’ physical, social and emotional persona with extreme sensitivity. The school also introduced CIE curriculum from the academic year 2017-18. The campus provides education to approx. 336 students at present.

To address to the need of quality English and Gujarati medium schools in this belt of Surat , Gajera trust initiaited this temple of learning in June 2009. The campus provides education to approx. 741 students at present.

Sunita's Makerspace

Moving with the times, the Gajera Trust initiaited Sunita’s Makerspace – a place to explore, experiment and impliment; a space for tools, projects, mentors and expertise. Launched on April 18, 2015 under the guidance of Ms. Kinjal Gajera at Vatsalyadham, Kamrej, Surat. Today Sunita’s Makerspace has its dynamic and vibrant branches at Katargam, Utran, Pal and Sarigam, where it enables learners to discover passion in a positive and encouraging environment.

With the launch of this medical mission at his native place on July 05, 2017, the much awaited dream of Shri Vasantbhai to provide the best medical facilities and education to his brethren has been realized.

The Trust in association with Laxmi Diamond Group of Companies and other NGOs has been supporting various health initiatives: blood donation drives, mobile medical van (Amreli), eye check-up camps, and food and medicine distribution activities, and support to various hospitals and voluntary organizations, viz., Shree Prannath Sevashram Hospital, Surat; Shubhakari Sitaram Seva Trust, Bhavnagar; Lions Cancer Detection Center Trust, Surat; Surat Raktadan Kendra and Research Centre, Surat; Ayurvedic Arogya Bhavan Trust, Surat, etc.

Vatsalyadham, Surat

Shri Chunibhai’s humanity is truly lived out in this campus, ‘Vatsalyadham’ – a home for orphans. He had the guts to extend his hands and embrace orphans and downtrodden as his own. More than a charity, he considered this project as his responsibility. Today, more than 850 boys, girls, and elders make this campus as their own.

Health Initiatives

The Trust in association with Laxmi Diamond Group of Companies and other organizations have supported various health initiatives.

Blood Donation Camp

Since the establishment of Gajera Vidya Bhavana at Katargam in 1999 till today, Blood Donation Camp is organized twice a year (January 26 & August 15) by the Trust. Till date, the trust has collected more than 11,000 units of blood and made significant contributions to save the lives of those in need.

Diagnosis and Treatment Camp

The Gajera Trust organizes occasional diagnosis and treatment camps. Such camps are organized in collaboration with well-known and eminent doctors of the city and with the help of the volunteers of the trust. The Trust organizes regular diagnosis and treatment camps in the tribal areas of districts like Valsad-Dang and Tapi. In which the patients coming to the camp are checked and given the necessary medicines.

Eye Check up camp and Eye donation awareness campaign

Eye checkup camps are organized by the trust from time to time. At the same time, a public awareness campaign is being run to donate their eyes and bodies after the death of their relatives. Financial assistance is also provided by the trust for cataract surgery in tribal areas. Each year 50 patients are paid the full cost for the operation.

Shantaba General Hospital, Amreli

The government hospital in the city of Amreli, which was in a dilapidated condition and lacked the necessary facilities, has been acquired by the Gajera Trust by donating of millions of rupees and acquired it through a public-private partnership. Facilities available at reputed private hospitals are made available totally free of cost.

Medical Van

People in the far away villages of Amreli district cannot reach the hospital due to common illnesses, as a result of which the illness become severe and the patient gets into a lot of trouble. In view of this situation, a medical van facility was started by Gajera Trust. In order to ensure that the patients get the best medical treatment right at home, a modern medical van with specialist doctors and pathology labs goes to the villages on a regular basis to check the patients and dispense medicine.              

Relief work in times of Pandemics and Natural Disasters

Natural disasters occur from time to time in the world. Even the able-bodied are becoming helpless at such times. The greatest danger at the time of a natural disaster is the spread of an epidemic. The Gajera Trust is always ready to provide medical assistance to the people at such times.Even in times of pandemic like Covid-19, the Gajera Trust provided much-needed financial and humanitarian assistance to isolation centers. Medical supplies and medicines were also delivered to those in need.

Financial cooperation in organizations working in the Medical field

Many public trusts working in the medical field receive financial support from the Gajera Trust. They have donated a lot to Mahavir Hospital, Kiran Hospital and Prannath Hospital which are well known in Surat.

Community Service

Serving the community has been a passion and a fundamental reason why Gajera Trust exists. The founders of the Trust and the torchbearers have always conformed.

Food Kit Distribution

The trust prepares food kits like grains, oils, spices and distributes them in villages in the tribal areas of Valsad and Dang districts. At the same time children are given useful things to learn.

Financial aid to Organizations

The Gajera Trust provides financial assistance to charitable organizations where it is unable to provide assistance in person. Financial assistance is provided by the Trust to build a check dam in the village to meet the water shortage in Saurashtra. Apart from this, Finalcial assistance is also given in the construction of schools and hospitals.

Assistance in times of Natural Disasters

The Gajera Trust provides food kits, essential household items and medicines to those in needs at a time when everyone is feeling helpless in times of natural disasters.

Widow Aid

Widows and abandoned women receive Trust assistance. Scholarships are given to their children to pay fees in trust-run schools. Apart from this sometimes employment oriented tools are also provided.

Vatsalya Dham

When a promising child does not get the right upbringing, his future tends to be bleak. There are many children in the society who cannot get proper upbringing due to the situation. Gajera Trust established “Vatsalyadham” in May 2005 to improve the lives of such orphans and abandoned children. Here children are imparted holistic education along with vocational training. When a child enters the society as an adult, he is brought up in such a way that he does not have to reach out to anyone. Vatsalyadham is a place where every child establishes himself as an ideal person for his village and a responsible citizen for the society. Today, in 2022, about 850 sons and daughters are making a living here.
