“Giving back is our most precious purpose, one we pursue with pride.”
The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), India’s premier body driving the growth and promotion of the nation’s gemstones and jewellery industries, hosted the 46th annual India Gem & Jewellery Awards (IGJA) on 27th August, 2021. The Award, set up 45 years ago to honour India’s leading exporters of gems and jewellery, has for the 5th year in a row recognised our beloved foundation, Gajera Trust — for the meaningful education and healthcare initiatives implemented through the year, at the Vatsalyadham orphanage and Shantabaa Medical College & General Hospital. For all of us at the Trust, this award, lifted for the fifth time in as many years, is testimony to the impact that our focus, dedication and hard work is having in the areas of social,
educational and healthcare advancements. Vatsalyadham, our home for orphans in Kamrej and Shantabaa Medical College & General Hospital, Amreli, and the collective endeavours of everyone there have resulted in the IGJA choosing us as the Most Socially Responsible Company in the industry.
Held in Surat and graced by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijay Rupani, the award was received on behalf of all of us at the Trust by our esteemed Managing Trustee and Director of Laxmi Diamond, Mr. Chunibhai Gajera as well as Ms. Kinjal Gajera, Trustee and Founder of Sunita’s Makerspace. Also in attendance were the Guest of Honour,Member of Parliament, Shri C. R. Patil, and Special Guest Shri Kumar Kanani, the Honourable Minister for Health & Family Welfare & Medical Education of Gujarat. It is only fitting that Mr. Chunibhai Gajera and Ms. Kinjal Gajera represent us at this event. His love for the environment has inspired our work across various communities in society, while her passion for creativity and innovation has propelled some of our most
impactful missions. As always, Laxmi Diamond has reflected our belief and efforts with equal brilliance, to serve communities and make life brighter for one and all.
Through our initiatives, we have served communities with free health check-ups and medical care, as well as provided children with safe shelter, learning and empowerment. Every step of the way leading up to this recognition, has been filled with purposeful joy.
As always, Gajera Trust and Laxmi Diamond are bound by our common vision towards a world of oneness, and being a catalyst for positive change.
For our efforts to be recognised is a truly humbling feeling shared by all teams here at Gajera Trust and Laxmi Diamond. It’s what makes our work truly timeless.
