Technology is the cornerstone of all-round education

Education is a weapon, we can use to change the world. In the progressive world, change is constant. Accepting change is inevitable. If we look around us, the world we see 50 years ago and today looks very different. Technology has made incredible changes in all areas and most of them have been pleasant. Changes due to technology have increased the well-being and convenience of human being. At the same time, technology has made its place in the world class competition in employment, business etc. Unfortunately, education is one of the areas in India where the use of technology is still debated. There are no concrete policies made with proper planning. In my opinion, new reforms in education need to be prioritised. The education system must be constantly updated

by keeping the future in mind. Once children complete their studies, they should be able to make their own identity and prove themselves globally. Getting such type of education is their fundamental right. According to the policies formulated over the years, acquiring education becomes tedious for the students. There is no doubt that the use of technology in place of information-based learning and evaluation-based methods alone can make education interesting and strengthen the basics. It can hone the skills of children, better.

Technology makes it possible to integrate knowledge from all over the world. Even a child in any far away remote village can get guidance from the best teacher in the world through technology. The most important thing is that we can keep our child engaged in more and more positive activities. With the help of technology, a bag weighing 5-10 kg on the shoulders of small children can be reduced and truly teaching without stress can be imparted.

The indispensability of teacher in education is undeniable. Technology cannot replace a teacher but if teachers are updated with technology, best results can be achieved. We are still tampering with the future of our children if we continue teaching, the old-fashioned traditional methods. Therefore, if we enhance the use technology-rich education system in the classrooms and outside the classrooms, our children will succeed in becoming global leaders.

Technology has been a priority in education since the Gajera Trust established the first school ‘Gajera Vidyabhavan’ in an area like Katargam in 1999. When technology was not so prevalent, emphasis was laid on activity based learning through technology from the primary level. In all the schools of Gajera Trust, along with students, teachers are also trained to have basic knowledge of computer and other subjects. All campuses have well equipped computer labs as well as live recording studio, were talk shows, webinars, video recordings are done regularly.
